Day Star Church
Description: Structural steel/composite developments subject to vibration checks
Scope of Works: Structural design and Supervision.

This interesting project featured design of several structural steel and composite assemblages in forms of; the roof a new worship auditorium/overflow facility, an elaborate platform for the outdoor HVAC units, speaker support systems, a water tower, entrance canopy, and studio. A utility building, Sewage and water treatment plants were also done however in reinforced concrete.
The greatest take away from this project was the bulk load of additional experience/exposure gained in understanding structural steel and composite material behaviour due to wind loads and vibration as many checks were carried out to ensure stability of the structures.
Role Model School
Description: 2 blocks of 3 storey buildings (Primary & Junior Secondary Schools) with an elaborate playground and swimming pool.

To preserve the architecture of the approach view of the buildings, series of free standing staircases and cantilever slabs were used. Solid slabs were predominately used in areas with aspect ratio not exceeding 1.2 (studies show that an aspect ratio > 1.2 tend to yield more expensive design) while one way spanning rib slabs (85 mm topping, 225 ribs @ 1350 mm centres) were adopted for longer span areas to cater for all dead and code specified imposed loads. Conventional pad bases and strips were used to transfer structural loads to the stiff soils beneath the buildings.

Ogun State Polytechnic Ipokia
Description: Administrative building: One (1) Storey + Roof; 750 Capacity Lecture Hall: Ground + Roof; 2 Nos 300 Capacity Lecture Hall: Ground + Roof
Location: Ipokia, Ogun State

The structures are supported by isolated pad & strip footings sized to transfer the gravitional loads to the stiff soil layer beneath.
